Oleum Sabinae

Not only olive trees.

Our fig orchard.

Whoever has worked the land following the rhythm of nature know full well the it is inadvisable to rely on a single crop cultivation that might produce differently each year or be partially damaged by the elements. So we decided to grow something else and our fig orchard was born, with 2000 trees which we nurture with the same care and attention as we do our olive trees.

From our fig trees

Delicious, natural products.

We create very natural products from our 2000 figs, some very simple, others a little more unusual, but all of them of he highest quality. From the plain and simple fig jam to the mixed jams with figs and ginger or cinnamon, excellent for delicious breakfasts providing plenty of energy but also wonderful to accompany cheese for example, as part of a tasty aperitif, or for recipes with a sweet and sour flavor.

Our Olive grove

The old and the young

Oleum Sabinae extends over an area of 23 hectares and boasts 3500 olive trees, some of which have been ours for generations, others planted more recently. We take great care and have a deep respect for all of these trees and for this reason we have chosen to practice non-intensive agriculture, preferring instead to follow the natural rhythm of our plants.

Respect and Care

From pruning to harvesting

Watching a tree grow and taking care of it until it bears fruit is a beautiful experience. For us every olive tree is a living creature and worthy of our respect. Pruning is done manually and harvesting semi-manually, being extremely careful not to damage the plant. Even for the fertilization and other procedures over the course of the year we have chosen to adopt old techniques which we carry out using modern machinery.

Farmer’s DNA

Brought up amongst the olives

As often happens in the small towns of the countryside we grew up amongst olive trees, listening to the stories told by the older folk and learning from them that profound respect for nature which we still nurture today. We learnt to recognize the perfume of the olives freshly pressed at the mill, when pressing olives was still an excuse for celebration and the mill resounded with laughter and joy.

Back to our roots

Looking to the future

After various different work experiences and aware of the strong relationship we have with this land we decided to go back to our roots, back to our olive orchards and make them our livelihood. In 1998 we started Oleum Sabinae with the aim of passing on those very values and those traditions that we learnt as children but with an eye to the future. Some of those innovations have been defining features for our business, for example the attention we dedicate to packaging our products but we have also reverted to old, traditional methods no longer used in modern farming such as fertilization through grassing.

Oleum Sabinae

Passion for the land and for tradition

We are convinced that natural, top quality products will never go out of fashion. The foundations of Oleum Sabinae are passion for the land we work and respect for our ancient traditions, and these are the values that guide us as we work with dedication and with respect for our history. Because for us Agriculture means Life!

18 Hectares

In Montelibretti

We produce an excellent extra virgin olive oil, cold pressed, from the olives of our 3500 trees which are scrupulously cared for throughout the year, pruned strictly by hand and harvested semi-manually. As well as olive trees we have 2000 fig trees which means we can vary our produce and continue to offer new and appetizing products.
